Kaufman County Credit Union
Application Quick List

Employees Credit Union made the decision in 2002 to expand its' field of membership into an underserved area, bringing benefits and services that a credit union can best provide.  The decision was made by ECU's Board of Directors to locate a branch in Kaufman County and to charter the new branch as a community charter.  This would allow the Kaufman branch to serve anyone who worked, resided or attended school in Kaufman County.

In February, 2003, land was purchased at 315 E. Fair Street, Kaufman, Texas.  Shortly after purchasing the land a local architect was retained to design the new building.  After many discussions and revisions a plan was approved.  In keeping with our commitment to community, every endeavor was made to utilize local sub-contractors in the building of the Kaufman County Credit Union.

Prior to actual construction starting, a mini-mobile building was moved onsite July 7, 2003.  The doors were opened and staffers Connie Sadler, Gayle Bailey, Elizabeth Sias and Debbie Gray opened new accounts, made loans and provided the services that many had not had available to them in the past.

Dirt started flying, preparing the land for building construction in December, 2003.  Shortly afterwards building construction began.  What an exciting time!  The new building was completed in mid-May 2004.  The new building has many wonderful features; safe deposit boxes, a 4-lane drive-thru, outside 24 hour access ATM and night depository, a spacious lobby and teller area and private offices for those wishing to discuss their personal financial needs.
